About Visualizer

The Visualizer is a crucial component for performing Business Intelligence (BI) Analytics. It's where you actively engage in data visualization to transform raw data into actionable insights, ultimately driving data-driven decision-making.

Within the Visualizer, you construct the widgets and tables that display your data. You can customize various aspects such as:

  • Widget types: Choose the most effective visual representation for your data (e.g., bar charts for comparisons, line graphs for trends over time and pie charts for proportions).
  • Configurations: Adjust settings for each widget to optimize its clarity and highlight key metrics.
  • Filters: Refine the data shown in your widgets to focus on specific segments or periods, allowing for more targeted analysis.
  • Drill-down paths: Define interactive paths that enable users to explore data in more detail, moving from a high-level overview to granular specifics, which is a core capability of effective BI.

The data fueling these visualizations originates from workbooks. These workbooks are meticulously prepared, drawing data from your connected data sources and undergoing processes of curation and transformation through pipelines and orchestrations. In essence, the workbooks serve as the golden layer for data modelling upon which the Visualizer builds its powerful BI insights.

Once these insightful widgets are created, they can be saved onto dashboards. Dashboards act as centralized, interactive hubs where various visualizations are brought together to provide a comprehensive, at-a-glance view of key business metrics, enabling users to quickly grasp performance, identify trends, spot anomalies, and make informed decisions based on the underlying BI analytics.
